What a day! Lorna and I couldn't run any of our errands this week because David took my keys to Philadelphia with him by accident. When we realized they had flown with him on his trip, I told him not to worry about FedExing them to me I would be fine. Trying to save $20.
Well, today Lorna and I started out at 9:30am to run some errands for the baby shower I'm throwing for my sister in law tomorrow and to go to story time.
We went by the bank, then the credit union and on to Target. After leaving Target, I had just enough time to go by the post office, buy stamps and on to the library. Lorna decided she was hungry as we were leaving the post office, and I realized I had left a coupon at home, so I decided to skip story time and head back toward the house.
I get to the house, unload the few items I purchased at Target and then off to Applebee's for lunch. Lorna wanted nuggets, so I thought that was a good place for a compromise and she could get applesauce with some chicken tenders. Yeah, so I thought...after 3 bites of applesauce and 1 bite of chicken tender, she was ready to go. Not even her chocolate milk could convince her. Good thing I got a small lunch plate of a side salad and pasta penne.
We headed on across town to Babies R Us, and of course, she fell asleep on the way there, so I sat in the truck with her until she woke up. A 30 minute conversation with my mom and short one with my husband helped occupy my time while I sat and waited. Cell phones are good for some things. :-)
We get into Babies R Us and she likes playing with the toys and walking. She does not like riding in the cart. So, for our hour long shopping adventure for gifts and necessities, it was a battle and whining. We finally leave there and go to Big Lots and Carolina Pottery. No success at either place, but Lorna did convince me to buy her a bag of chocolate filled cookies. On to McDonald's for me to get a large sweet tea. Much needed at this point of the day.
We drive a few exits down to Home Goods and I SCORE!! Get exactly what I'm looking for and at a good price. Exciting times, Lorna was content the whole time and I'm getting a second wind to finish up these errands.
Drive back across town and head to WalMart. Lorna wanted to ride in her stroller, so I was happy to oblige. Only, I didn't consider all of the things I would have to carry with one hand since I was pushing her in her stroller with the other, but I managed. Got all of the things there that I needed, but forgot to use my gift card! UGH! I don't shop there for a reason, and only went there to use that thing. Now, I have to go back for something else. Hopefully I won't forget about it until I muster up the courage to return. Lorna did great in there as well. She is an absolute doll! Leave there; head home to drop off Lorna with David and unload the vehicle then off to Sam's for a much needed frozen food run. It is now pushing 7pm and I'm exhausted. Yet, I push on. These errands must be completed today. Then, I realize we have no meat thawing out for dinner. So, I decide we'll eat out and go as soon as I return from Sam's. Get everything from that stop and back home. Unload the vehicle again, and off to Roadhouse the 3 of us go. It is now 8pm and the wait is 40 minutes. I'm exhausted, Lorna is exhausted, David is exhausted and we are all hungry. So, we leave, drive through Burger King (gag) and order our food. Lorna falls asleep before we get home. David carries her in and puts her to bed in her clothes, and we sit down.
I am ready for tomorrow to get here so I will have sleep and this crazy day behind me. If I had only let my husband spend that $20...
